Liquid Acid Buffer™ is a non-phosphate buffer to lower pH and buffer with Liquid Alkaline Buffer™. Both buffers are designed for the planted aquarium or for very hard water where phosphate buffers may pose an algae or cloudiness problem. Liquid Acid Buffer™ lowers pH and buffers between 5.0 and 8.0 when used with Liquid Alkaline Buffer™. As Liquid Acid Buffer™ lowers pH it converts carbonate alkalinity into available CO2.

Sizes: 250 mL, 500 mL, 2 L, 4 L, 20 L

DIRECTIONS: Use 1 capful (5 mL) for every 10 L (2.5 gallons*) daily until desired pH is reached (this dose lowers alkalinity by about 0.08 meq/L (0.3 dKH)). If water is soft or not well buffered, use with Liquid Alkaline Buffer™ (see below). Larger doses may be required in very hard (KH) alkaline waters. TIPS: Liquid Acid Buffer™ will not raise pH. It may be added directly to the aquarium at any time. If using with RO or DI water for a water change, then use with Liquid Alkaline Buffer™ at a fixed ratio (see chart) to set the desired pH. Once pH is set add water to aquarium as soon as possible to avoid pH fluctuations.

Equilibrium™ is specifically designed to establish the ideal mineral content for the planted aquarium. Equilibrium™ is ideally suited for use with RO (reverse osmosis) or DI (deionized) water or any mineral deficient water. Equilibrium™ raises the essential mineral/electrolyte content (General Hardness) of the water to balance with and promote stability of the carbonate hardness without the introduction of chloride or sodium. more...
