used AmGuard to lower the ammonia which was real high. How
long before I can use a traditional ammonia test?
A: It actually depends on what type of kit you are using
and how good of a biological load you have in your system.
For example; If you are using Amguard and have a fairly
heavy biological load then most of the Amguard would be
consumed along with the ammonia within approximately 24
hours. If you have a weak biological load then it will take
longer. Also, if you have a Nessler reagent test kit and
your sample water turns brown upon addition of the reagents,
then you will know that Amguard is still in the system.
Q:
Does the multi test kit give an accurate total ammonia reading
when AmGuard is present?
A: Yes our kit will give correct readings even when Amguard
is used.
