GarlicGuard™ Support

Q: When you say mix with frozen food and place in the fridge for a week, does this mean its gonna keep the food good for a week? usually frozen brine wont last that long in a fridge.
A: Frozen brine will last in the fridge for a week in this solution. I personally have kept it for up to 3 weeks like this with no ill effects.

Q: Is it ok to place some flakes in a cup and pour in a bit of GarlicGuard then feed immediately? Shoud the flake be drained, or just pour it all in?
A: Using this product with flake food in the manner you mentioned is perfectly acceptable. I recommend to use a fork to remove the flake from this solution and let the excess drip off. The reason I recommend to do this is so there is no waste. You can re-use the product within 2 - 4 weeks as long as it is kept refrigerated. If any Garlic Guard gets in the aquarium, it is of no consequence and will not harm anything. Any residual garlic or garlic smell in the aquarium will be easily removed with carbon. Protein skimming will also help to remove this.

Q: I notice that the Garlic Guard turns a dark brown after awhile and smells like it may be tainted. Is it okay to use?
A: That is part of the normal oxidation process. As long as it still has a strong garlic odor it is ok to use. Just be sure to shake well before use.

Q: Should this product be referigerated after opening?
A: Refrigerating GarlicGuard is of no consequence to the function of the product. It does not need to be refrigerated and should keep just fine at room temperature. Refrigerating the product will not harm it if you choose to do so.
