Pond HealthGuard
Q: I've just added Pond HealthGuard™ to my pond and now there
is all kinds of foam and suds at the surface and my fish are dying
left and right. What is going on?
A: You must have used Demalin
in your system at some point in the past. Even if it has been many
months ago, it is still present in your system. When Demalin and
HealthGuard™ interact
you get the foaming that you're seeing. This mixture is very toxic
and is what is killing the fish. The only way to get rid of the Demalin
is to do a 100% water change. We don't address this issue on the label
because Demalin is a FDA controlled substance and technically you
probably shouldn't have been using it all.
Q: How do I determine the exact gallonage of my pond in order to
properly dose with Pond Healthguard™?
A: To calculate gallonage,
multiply average length by average width by average depth in feet
and multiply by 7.5. To obtain average dimensions of irregular
shaped ponds (e.g., kidney), take as many measurements as practical
to avoid overestimation and consequent possible overdose. Account
for water displacement by potted plants, rocks, or other decorative
materials. Dispense product widely to avoid localized overdose.
Q: Is Pond HealthGuard safe for snails (rams horns and black melenthos)
and frogs?
A: Pond HealthGuard is safe for all pond inhabitants,
including snails and frogs, as long as the directions are followed.
It is a disinfectant that in most cases does not last any longer
than 24 hour
