Exchange Resins

When using exchange resins that are recharged with NaCl is there a time when the exchange ions become harmful to fish and plants in the tank. I am currently using one which removes nitrates?

Typically no. Most of the aquarium resins are designed for use with animals and plants. The amounts exchanged for are also very minimal. With regular water changes there should be no issue.
