Purigen the best for my purpose?

I am setting up a 7 gallon fishless (soft corals and maybe a shrimp) Nano Reef using a RIO pump with a conversion filter attached which sits INSIDE the tank. There is no sump, overflow or other filtration. My plan is to try to replace the sponge inside the filter with a 100ml bag of Purigen. Would this be the best media to put into the filter, or would you recommend another type or combination of Seachem product?

I think Purigen would be your best choice. It will remove nitrogenous waste and help keep the protein and nitrate level down.
