View Full Version : Temperature and Prime......
Hi,
Just needing to know if Temperature affects the effectiveness of Prime in any way....???
I have to take Bait Fish from 45F to 86F on a regular basis......
Is it just as effective at the lower temps...???
Many Thanx!

Prime shouldn't be affected by any range of tempature, It is a chemical that treats what seems to be any tempature of water. Unless the water was below 38F I wouldn't worry.

By 38F I basically mean FREEZEING TEMPATURES because that would most likely FREEZE prime before it could do it's job 38F isn't freezeing but I'm just hinting at the coldness point, So what I'm basically saying is YOU'RE FINE so don't worry about it. My friend uses Prime in his pond during winter and his hits low tempatures of even 35f, If you're still worried about you're bait fish then just get a Tap-Water Filter, then all you need to do is add some stress guard then a PH Buffer

The only concern with Prime is that you need to use less at a temperature over 86˚. This is due to the fact that the higher temperature water holds less oxygen. Other than that you don't need to worry Prime will be effective at all temperatures.
