Today since my power went out I added Aquari-sol into my tank I forgot that Purigen absorbs it or is supposed to, It may just be a trick of the brain but I think my tank isn't as clear as it was before... could it be possible that Aqauri-sol clogged up the purigen? One more question, the way I use purigen is I put it in the Extra Media Cartridge in the emperror, that provides enough flow right? ( I am useing Marinelands Emperror 280 to house the Purigen in) the water hits the carbon then it hits the Purigen so hopefully that is getting enough flow I am useing it in both 280's.... Thanks!

Aquari-sol is fine to use in the tank with Purigen. It will not clog up the Purigen. The cloudy water is most likely a result of lack of oxygen and/or temperature drop experienced when the power was out. You may have lost some of the beneficial bacteria but they should recover quickly.

Ok well my Heater burnt out so I went out and bought Marineland's new "STEALTH" heater which seems to be dialing in perfectly, The water is still cloudy so I went ahead and purchased NEW Purigen I basically now put two 100ml bags in the extra media cartridge in each filter, So far it isn't as clear as it was before So I'll wait it out, Is Biochem better or worse? Just curious, Also can Purigen be used in replacement of Carbon? Because Marinelands Carbon Cartridges have small carbon that get's loose then clogs the Emperror's spray bar >.< kinda stupid I think they should up the size but yeah, And last, can Purigen be used WITH Biochem? Thanks!

I'm sorry to hear that your heater burnt out. Biochem Zorb is a different type of product than Purigen, it is very similar to our HyperSorb. They are both ion exchange resins. Purigen is strictly a absorbent resin. I much prefer Purigen over HyperSorb. It does a much better job. Many people who prefer something not as aggressive as carbon chose Purigen. You can use it with any other filter media without any problem.
