Alkalinity

I setup a 500 total gallons system last month, filled it with water using RO & Reef Salt. It's been running since, with ~200 lbs LR & 280 lbs LS in the display. No lights yet.
I tested the system last night, Alk was only 2.5 dKH. Shouldn't it be higher? pH is 8.2

The alkalinity should be higher more like 9-13 dKH. THe pH is okay. Reef Builder will add alkalinity while maintaining pH. Since, this is a newer tank set up some of the alkalinity can be diminished with acid production in the tank.
