Hi:
I use discus and acid buffer in my planted discus tank. What are the differences of these two products. The descriptions sound similar (precipitae out cations and release co2), but the discus buffer seems to have a lasting effect on controling my Ph. I use acid buffer to lower ph, and discus buffer to maintain it there.

Thanks
Jer

The base of the buffers and the pK of the buffers is different. Discus Buffer is phosphate based and Acid buffer is non phosphate based. Discus Buffer can help achieve a pH 5.8-6.8. Acid Buffer lowers carbonate hardness to lower pH.

Both can be used. Acid Buffer can be used to lower KH and Discus Buffer to buffer the water in an acidic range.
