Hello! If I use hydrogen peroxide or erythromicyn in my tank the bacterias from stability can recover fast ?they will be protected inside the matrix ? (the bilogical media tht I use)

The bacterias in stability are gram positive or negative? They are in filaments ? I did a gram stain in my filter, and saw bacterias like this, I am suspecting that could be cyanobacterias.I will do a culture to confirm.

If they are in great numbers, a pale orange mucus can be found in the filters media?

Than you again!

Hydrogen peroxide and erythromycin will have some impact on the bacteria for sure but it is difficult to say how much. It is unlikely that Matrix will protect the bacteria as the water containing the medication will be pushed through it. After completing treatment, it would be a good idea to do a few doses of Stability to repair any damaged colonies. Also, watch for any ammonia spikes during treatment, if they occur, perform water changes to maintain the water parameters.

Unfortunately, I can not release additional information about the types of bacteria used in Stability, as this information is proprietary. Some of what you have seen under your scope is most definitely from Stability but there are many other species that have probably began growing naturally or have been introduced through other means.

I have never experienced an orange mucus using Stability and would expect that this is from some other source. Unfortunately, I have no idea what may have caused it.
