  • Adding new fish after medicating tank

How long should I wait after medicating a tank with Kanaplex (most recent treatment) and losing fish?

I had a number of problems on and off with this tank over the fall. Bloodfin Tetras. 10 Gallon. (2 small albino corys have survived it all and are fine). The last fish died in December,...

Conflicting Info on Dropsy in Betta

I seem to be finding conflicting info on how to treat a Betta with Dropsy. I hope I'm not too late to treat properly. Hope someone can help.

First, she's in a 2.5 gal tank with a heater and sponge filter. Water is hard, pH about 7.6, 0 NH3, 0 Nitrites, and when the Nitrates gets 20-40 I...

  • KanaPlex and Chemical versus Carbon Filter Media

i have a bacterial infection which is causing open sores. I'm thinking of using KanaPlex. In the product detail page on Seachem's website one paragraph says to remove carbon. • Using KanaPlex and Paraguard Together

Just want to know if this is safe to do. My gouramis have a parasitic dactylogyrus infection with probable secondary bacterial or fungal lesion. Now I want to treat both but I want to be sure it is safe to use both Paraguard and Kanaplex together.

    Thanks.

    Toxicity of Kanaplex

    Hi,

I recently used Kanaplex to treat my entire display tank since it had a severe outbreak of very contagious and deadly bacteria, possibly F. Columnare.

Anyway, thr treatment seems to have worked since the deaths seem to have stopped.

    I'm wondering though,...

  • Looks like Ich but is NOT Ich? Have pics to show..

I have a gourami that has ick-like symptoms (i.e white grainy salt-like items) on its tail, lower fin and some parts of the body. I say it's "ick-like" because I have been unable to cure it using despite multiple and varying ick-treaments. I have tried salt and heat, Ick-Clear, Ick Guard,...

    Kanaplex dosing

I have a couple of questions.

According to the packaging there are two methods for treating your fish. Mix directly into the tank or mix into the food. I want to treat my betta fish with Kanaplex using the second method by mixing with its food (1 scoop per tbsp. of thawed frozen blood...

    The Seemingly Uncurable Lesion

Seriously need help! About six months ago the Crowntail betta at my office started developing a slightly raised, grayish/transparent lesion on the right side of his head/face. At first, I thought he might have gotten hurt when I was netting him (I have since changed to scooping him into a cup when I...

    Popeye and KanaPlex

I have a 9 year old fantail goldfish with severe popeye in both eyes. The eyes are also very cloudy. I believe this is caused by a spike in ammonia 8 days ago as the fish exhibited other signs of ammonia poisoning (red streaks, clamped fins) and a water test kit indicated the presence of ammonia. I...
