Is it OK to dose Excel at night

Hello and sorry for all the questions. I suppose in an ideal situation I would dose excel in the morning but because of my work schedule I have to dose a night just after the lights go off in my tank. Is there any drawbacks to that? Will the Excel lose effetiveness overnight before the plants can use it the next day?

Thanks as always for your help

Re: Is it OK to dose Excel at night

No need to apologize for the questions; that is what we're here for! Here is a quote from the Flourish Excel FAQ website that should answer your question:
"Q: Is it better to add Flourish Excel at night or in the morning based upon plant carbon uptake physiology?

A: Carbon intake is a function of photosynthesis. Based on this, it would be ideal to dose Flourish Excel during the day. But given that Flourish Excel can stay complexed as a carbon source for up to 24 hours before it dissipates, you can dose at any time of the day and the product will be available for the next 24 hours. Flourish Excel is not carbon dioxide and there is no impact on pH using Flourish Excel."

Perfect! How is it that Excel stays fresh in the bottle but dissipates in the water? Does it interact with the water in some way that it starts to break down if unused?

That is basically the idea; also, the bottle keeps light out, but when placed into an aquarium with clear glass, the product is able to work.
