Pond Matrix in a bead filter?

Is pond matrix heavy or light? Will the backwash cycle clean pond matrix?

Re: Pond Matrix in a bead filter?

Hello Rave, thanks for the post. Pond Matrix is a very porous material and is fairly lightweight. Backwashing is a great way to help prevent detritus from building up in the media and will help ensure it functions properly. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.
