Using Prime URGENT PLEASE

Hi, Hope you can help asap please.

I started off 4 new tanks a couple of weeks ago and all are doing well except one which still had high ammonia ( 1.0) and nitrite (0.50) readings, even though I was doing 25 or 50% water changes daily.
I lost one precious fish yesterday and on the LFS advice bought Prime and Stability. I added the Stability as directed and also Prime at the rate of 3 times the normal dose last evening.
The fish are much better this am, but as I wont get normal readings with my API kit I ont know what to do next.
On the bottle it states that Prime locks up Ammonia and Nitrites for 24 hours - does this mean I need to add it daily and if so for how long. Please get back to me asap I only have one female of this strain left alive - she is very precious.
Thank you

Re: Using Prime URGENT PLEASE

Daily additions of Prime will ensure that the ammonia and nitrite remained bound preventing harm to the fish. It does not remove them or effect the test results. I would recommend daily additions of Prime until both levels are under control.

The use of Stability will speed up the removal process. If the levels get too high you will still want to do a partial water change. High levels of ammonia and nitrite will prevent the bacteria that consumes them from growing.
