whats the difference? is it only the size?

They are the same material. It is only the size difference that is different. With Matrix being larger you can get a small amount of denitratification occurring inside of each piece. De*nitrate is smaller because in a slow flow rate you want as much surface area as possible. This will allow the most denitratification to occur.
