best time to add

hi. due to my early morning rise for work, i need to know if adding chemilcals well before the lights come on is o.k.? I am using seachems dosing chart, but i need to know if i'm wasting chemicals or if the plants can absorb them in the dark.(sometimes 5 hours before the lights come on)

Maybe i could add a weeks worth of chems to my top off jug. Will the chems be fine mixed with water? my top off system is primative, works off a timer every day and pumps to my sump. However this makes measuring out a weeks worth of chems quite easy!

Re: best time to add

Adding the supplements early in the morning will still benefit the plants. They will not absorb them until the lights come on. I think for your convenience you will find that adding a weeks worth of supplements to your top off water may be the best idea. All of the plant supplements are safe to add together except for Flourish Phosphorous. Flourish Phosphorous will precipitate out many of the other supplements. Good luck.
