Purigen Regeneration

Hey,
I have used a biostarter/slimecoat product in my one of my tanks that currently also has purigen in the filter. Im not sure if it is amine based or not. If it was amine based would this effect the regeneration of purigen? Or if I use prime (as I normally do) during the regeneration process will the product be reusable. What I am trying to say is, if amine base products were used while purigen was in the tank does it render purigen non reusable or only if these amine based products are used in the regeneration process?

cheers,

Re: Purigen Regeneration

It is fine to use your water conditioner with Purigen in the aquarium. The problem occurs in the regeneration process. If an amine based polymer is used during the dechlorination process than you will form chloramine. These can be deadly to your aquarium. To be safe I would use Prime in the regeneration process.

I use Purigen, and it's better.
