10% water change Prime dosage?

Hi,

I have a 80ltr aquarium and perform a weekly 10% water change. I siphon the water out into a bucket, but then use a 2ltr bottle to replace the water.

Currently I use a dechlorinator that has a dosage of 1-2 drops per 4ltr and so does each bottle with 1 drop.

I bought Prime along with Discus Buffer to use when regenerating my Purigen but figure I should use Prime for all my water conditioning.

So If I'm removing 8ltrs water and then using a 2ltr bottle to replace the water what would be the correct way to dose the water and how do I measure the correct dosage?

Many thanks for your time.

Re: 10% water change Prime dosage?

Glad to hear that you are switching completely to Prime:) You will only need to dose Prime for the amount of water that you are replacing. Because Prime is so concentrated, you will only need a very small amount for your 2L replacement water.

The instructions say to use 1 cap (5mL) of Prime per 200L of water. Since you will only be dosing for 2L of water, you will only need 0.05mL of Prime. Therefore, 1 drop will be sufficient for your 2L bucket. Just FYI, 20 drops is approximately equal to 1mL. Hope this helps!
