How much Tanganyika Buffer to use with RO???

Hi,

I've just kicked off my new Tang Tank... and I want to use RO water and Seachem Cichlid Lake Salt and Liquid Tang Buffer to condition the water.

My question is: how much Liquid Tanganyika Buffer do I need to conidtion 120 L of RO water to achieve the correct parameters?

Thanks in advance for all your help.

Regards,

Chris

Re: How much Tanganyika Buffer to use with RO???

Hi Chris,
Congrats on your new tank! Here are the instructions for Liquid Tanganyika Buffer:

Use 2 capfuls (10 mL) for every 40 L (10 gallons*) until desired pH is attained. Thereafter, use as required to maintain pH. (Note: The 2 & 4 L container’s cap is 10 mL). Hints: Check pH after each dose to be sure you do not exceed your desired pH. If pH is exceeded, you can use Acid Buffer™ to lower pH. Works best when used in aquaria employing Seachem’s Cichlid Lake Salt™ (liquid or dry version). Final pH depends on the amount of Liquid Tanganyika Buffer™ used.

With that said, for 120L, you will need about 6 capfuls, or 30mL of the buffer initially to achieve your desired pH in the RO water. After adding the buffer, check your pH to see where it sits. If need be, you can add the buffer daily until the pH of your tank is achieved. Thereafter, you should only need to use the buffer as needed to maintain that pH.
