Multitest Iron????

I would like to solve a couple of doubts I have about the accurate use of this test kit:

1.-What is considered "normal" or "Low" range?

2.-Is not important to be accurate in the amount of sample water to be put into the cuvette? To fill the cuvette to within 1 cm (0.5 inch) from the top sound to vague for me. Is not important to be accurate in the solution to have an accurate value?

Thanks a lot for your consideration in solving my doubts.

Re: Multitest Iron????

Normal = 0.1+ ppm
Low range = less than 0.1 ppm

The reason you don't have to be as precise is because in the low range test there is sucha small amount of iron that even an error as large as 5-10% due to dilution is still a very small error.

For example, say you have a concentration of .05 ppm. If you fill the sample vial 10% further than you should (which is actually much more difficult than you might think, it starts to look too full), then the test will read as .055 ppm, which is practically the same number for dosage purposes. Admittedly, it is not EXACTLY the same, but in a low range kit your margin for error is greater, so an exact sample volume is not as critical.
