Supplements...sorry if this is posted in the wrong forum!

I have a 72 gallon reef aquarium, and have used a Seachem product only once before. Would someone be able to assist me with what supplements I should use as I don't want to overdose my tank? In particular, I am not sure whether to use the Fundamentals package with the Enhancer? Thanks.

Re: Supplements...sorry if this is posted in the wrong forum!

The 2 biggest "consumables" by your reef/calcareous organisms is calcium and a source of carbon. Your carbonate alkalinity is most often used as an available source of carbon. To replenish these items, I recommend our Reef Complete (liquid) or Reef Advantage Calcium (powder) for calcium supplementation and Reef Carbonate (liquid) or Reef Builder (powder) to replenish your carbonate alkalinity. Trace minerals are required to some degree by all of your aquarium inhabitants. Reef Plus is our trace mineral supplement that also includes vitamins and amino acids. Iodide (included in Reef Pus) is readily consumed and depleted by chemical means in the aquarium. You can then use our Reef Iodide to keep an adequate iodide concentration between your regular doses of Reef Plus if needed. The 3 products I recommend you start with is Reef Complete (liquid) or Reef Advantage Calcium (powder) for calcium supplementation, Reef Carbonate (liquid) or Reef Builder (powder) for replenishment of your carbonate alkalinity, and Reef Plus for trace mineral supplementation. Reef Complete, Reef Carbonate, and Reef Plus are sold in a convenient "3 pack" called Reef Pack Fundamentals. As your reef matures and it's needs increase above what is offered by Reef Complete, Reef Carbonate, and Reef Plus, you can include Reef Iodide, Reef Calcium, and Reef Strontium in your dosing regimen. These 3 products are also sold as a "3 pack" called Reef Pack Enhancer.

We also manufacture a full line of test kits to monitor concentrations of the above mentioned items. I recommend our Reef Status Calcium test kit and our Multitest pH & Alkalinity test kit for starters. You may also consider others like our Multitest Nitrite/Nitrate, Multitest Phosphate, and Multitest Iodine/Iodide.

Re: Supplements...sorry if this is posted in the wrong forum!

Thank you for your help! I have had my reef aquarium for almost six years now, but have used a Seachem product only once before. My concern was to buy the correct products as I normally add only calcium, strontium, and iodide.
Thanks again for your detailed response.
