Fertilizing my 30 gallon

Hello, I have few questions regarding fertilizing my tank.

Its a 30 gallon filled with Red Ludwigias, 2 swords, Lloydiella Greens, and carpets (or attempt at) of dwarf hair grass.

Currently I'm dosing with 2.5ml of Flourish and Flourish Iron, every MWF. I've also been thinking about dosing with Flourish Potassium as well. What do you think? Would Potassium be needed in the tank?

Re: Fertilizing my 30 gallon

Thanks for the post and for using our Flourish products in your planted tank! :-)

I think adding the Flourish Potassium to your tank would be a great idea. Potassium is very important in the aquarium, as it plays many roles in keeping your plants healthy. Potassium activates many important enzymes, it regulates stomatal activity (the pores in which gas exchange takes place), helps with photosynthesis, transports sugars and is involved in protein and starch synthesis.

So again, I would highly recommend dosing the Flourish Potassium. You can dose it 2–3 times per week or as needed (in response to signs of potassium deficiency in older leaves which includes: chlorosis (yellowing), necrosis (death/browning), and weak stems and roots.

I hope this helps!

I am also thinking about getting the Excel product.

I eventually want to put shrimp/inverts in my tank. Will these products kill my shrimp?

Re: Fertilizing my 30 gallon

When used as directed, each product in the Flourish line is completely safe for use with invertebrates. Therefore, adding shrimp will be just fine:)
