  • Use of Paraguard and something else...for Ich and body fungus

Part A. So, this tank has been up and running for several years with no problems. A school of Boraras and a school of Petruichthys sp rosy (rosy loach), both nano species. My Boraras are aging out. One had an intermittent/slight body fungus. So, I treated with Paraguard because it's mild (both the case...

  • Dosing Paraguard with Cory Cats, Netites and Rasboras

Hello, so pretty much the title sums it up. I have 8 Cory Cats, 9 Rasboras and 5 Nerites in a 29 gallon. My Corys have been showing signs of irritation since the day I brought them home (almost a month ago). This is my first go round with Corys, so pretty much I was unsure how to pinpoint the issue....

  • Will ParaGuard treat Costia? Are 1/2 dosages okay for the entire treatment?

    Seachem Folks,

    #1

From my understanding, Costia is a parasite that can be treated with Malachite Green and Formalin per American Aquarium Products.

I don't see Costia as a type of parasite that ParaGuard can treat, and I see very little discussion about it on the...

    Tetra & Platy Question

    Hello lovely people,

I am posting on behalf of my Mum. She is a complete novice when it comes to fish, she grew up with an Uncle who bred show winners but has never kept fish herself.

She started off with a small 10litre tank and two Harlequins who have always been and still...

    ParaGuard

I am using ParaGuard to treat for ich. As of today, I have been treating for 14 days. I understand that water temperature influences the parasite's life cycle and am wondering if your recommendation of 14 days holds for an aquarium temperature of 77 degrees.

  • is it safe to introduce my new fishes to my main display tank?

    Hi there,
I lost 4 fishes in just 2 weeks because of ich infection ( unfortunately, I wasn't aware of Paraguard product and used other medications which weren't useful). I started treating my main display tank last week for 7 days ( and still continuing the treatment) with Paraguard. My remaining...

  • Using KanaPlex and Paraguard Together

Just want to know if this is safe to do. My gouramis have a parasitic dactylogyrus infection with probable secondary bacterial or fungal lesion. Now I want to treat both but I want to be sure it is safe to use both Paraguard and Kanaplex together.

    Thanks.

  • Newly discovered ICH in my planted tank...

    Hi,

I hope that I can source some help here

I'm new to this hobby since July 2015. In beginning of October 2015, I did setup a new tank which is a 45G Fluval Bow Front in aquascaping mode. The tank is heavily planted. I went through a "Silent cycle" with NO, absolutely...

    Polyguard w Paraguard on offdays

    Hello!!

I am going to dose my 240 gal DT with PolyGuard. I have several Botia loaches, some Corys, and syno multipunctatus.

    1. Should I dose PolyGuard at half strength, due to these 'scaleless' fish? I know this can be a bad idea when using antibiotics, as it can give...

    Paraguard and healthy fish?

    Hello,

I bought two platys two days ago and they are settling into their 10L tank. This morning I noticed that one has a white edge to its fin and the fin is smaller than it should be. I think this is fin rot so I have dosed the tank with Paraguard. However I wanted to check that it is...

    Paraguard for Ich

I'm using Paraguard to treat a tank with ich, and I'm beginning to wonder whether I ought to try a new medication. I was hoping you might be able to help.

The tank has 3 types of loaches (kuhli, sidthimunki and Yunannilus cruciatus), Amano shrimp, assassin snails, malaysian trumpet snails,...

  • Use of Paraguard for Uronema marinum

I have a significant outbreak of Uronema marinum.

As the standard treatment for that is formalin and malachite green, I am presuming that Paraguard is a good choice. Does anyone have any experience with this difficult to treat protozoan? Is the dosing on the label adequate to treat...
